In a world where sports often emphasize competition and victory above all else, Laudate Lions running club stand out as a refreshing beacon of holistic development.

This unique running club, comprised of Catholic families, weaves together faith, empowerment, and athletic prowess in a way that nurtures the soul as much as the body.

The Foundation of Faith

At Laudate Lions, faith is the cornerstone of our training program. Every Friday, before lacing up our running shoes and hitting the trails, we gather for a time of Eucharistic Adoration.

This sacred practice allows us to center ourselves, reflect, and draw strength from our relationship with Christ.

It’s a time of peace and reflection, setting a serene tone that permeates the rest of our activities.

Adoration isn’t just a prelude to practice; it’s an integral part of our identity. It reminds us that our ultimate goal is not just to cross the finish line, but to grow closer to God and each other.

This spiritual grounding helps our runners develop a sense of purpose and perspective that transcends the racecourse.

Empowerment Through Community

Laudate Lions is more than just a team; it’s a community. Our approach to  running club emphasizes mutual support, encouragement, and personal growth. We believe that empowerment comes from lifting each other up and recognizing the unique gifts each member brings to the team.

During practice, experienced runners mentor newcomers, sharing tips on technique, pacing, and endurance. These mentoring relationships build confidence and camaraderie, creating a supportive environment where everyone feels valued and motivated.

Empowerment also extends beyond physical training. We incorporate lessons on resilience, goal-setting, and positive mindset. These sessions, often inspired by the virtues of the saints, provide our runners with tools to overcome challenges both on and off the trail.

 Excellence in Athleticism

While faith and community are central to our mission, we also strive for excellence in athletic performance. Our training program is designed to develop the skills and stamina needed to compete successfully at homeschooling meets.

Practices include a mix of endurance runs, interval training, strength exercises, and technique drills. We tailor our training to accommodate different skill levels, ensuring that each runner can progress at their own pace while still pushing their limits.

Competing with Character

When it comes time to compete at homeschooling meets,Laudate Lions carry with them the values and skills honed during practice. We compete with integrity, showing respect for our opponents, gratitude for the opportunity to race, and determination to do our best.

Our runners know that their performance is a reflection of their hard work, faith, and the support of their community. Win or lose, they demonstrate sportsmanship and grace, knowing that their true worth is not measured by medals but by their character and effort.
